A top-level dressage schoolmaster horse “teaches” a novice rider about how it feels to sit on an “educated” horse” — one who knows all the right moves!

Database — In Memoriam

April 1985 – November 2015

Besides painting, one of my other great passions in life is a love for horses — in particular a very special “schoolmaster” dressage horse named Database, who was my best friend and loyal companion for over two decades.

Database and I first came to California in 1995 to train with Hilda Gurney. He took me from first level to Prix St George, winning Regional Championship the first year. Then I rode him to Grand Prix and got my Gold Medal.

All in all, I rode Database six days a week for over 20 years. In all that time he was never sick, always sound, and always happy, until he left this earth at the age of 30½.

How I will miss him! ♥

Database's last days Database's 30th birthday Database's ribbons My horse's adorable face

His last experience on planet earth:
sunshine on his face, doing his tricks,
and feeling no pain.

Database’s 30th birthday celebration
in April 2015: ribbons, precious photos
and, of course, cake!

The ribbons he wore on his birthday
were from 1995; I wanted him to think
he had won something special.

I will miss his
adorable face for
as long as I live.
